Friends, family and the bodybuilding community are mourning the loss of a 30-year-old McKinney businesswoman and mom.
Stacey Cummings, co-owner of Flex Fitness 24/7 and a professional bodybuilder, suddenly died last week, according to NBC 5 (KXAS-TV).
Her death was unexpected, her ex-husband Bryant Fought told the station. Cummings died in her sleep, he said.
McKinney Police told the station there are no signs of foul play.
Fought and Cummings opened Flex Fitness 24/7, located just east of Highway 75, two years ago.
Cummings found near-instant success in the bodybuilding world, going pro after just two competitions, the station reported.
“She was an incredibly hard worker,” Fought told the station. “You can ask any of her coaches, including myself, who were a part of her journey in becoming a figure pro.”
A toxicology report is pending, Fought told NBC 5.
“She just made so many friends and had so many acquaintances, and so many people who cared for her that, you know, her death is just a serious tragedy,” Fought said.
